IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John W.
Didado
November 2, 1934 – August 11, 2017
John W. Didado
John W. Didado, 82, passed away August 11 2017 after a long illness. He lived in Akron all his life and attended Central High School. He served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for Ohio Edison for more than 37 years, starting as an Apprentice Lineman and retiring as a District Line Supervisor. He founded J.W. Didado Electric in 1958. With his guidance and support, his sons and daughter have grown the company into one of the Midwest's largest and most successful electrical contracting companies.
John was a man of faith and was dedicated to St. Bernard Catholic Church where he was a parishioner for more than 50 years. He enjoyed hunting big game, fishing, golfing, visiting casinos and chasing storms. He was a tough, hard-working man who founded a successful business and raised a close-knit, loving family. He was a good man who will be remembered and missed by many. Few men can ask for or accomplish more.
Preceded in death by his parents Joe and Ethel Didado; daughter Annette; brothers Frank and Neil; sisters Lucy Troha, Angie Pushee, Jennie Ferrise and Mollie Ferrise; he is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Madelene; sons Gary (Rhonda) and Tony (Cynthia); daughter Maria (Andy) Jacobozzi; grandchildren Danielle (Tyler) Hysell; Sabrina and Dominic Didado; Salvatore and Santino Jacobozzi; sister Doris (Joe) Tricaso; brother-in-law Sam Ferrise; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, August 13th from 2 to 6 PM at Hennessy Funeral Home, 552 N. Main Street, Akron (corner of York and Main Street). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 14th at 9:30 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Avenue, Akron, with Father Dan Reed, celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron.
In lieu of flowers, donations may also be made to St. Bernard Parish Organ Restoration Fund or the St. Bernard Parish Hunger Center.
The family would like to thank Altercare of Hartville and Absolute Hospice of N. Canton for their compassion and help during John's illness. The expert care and friendship they provided made John's last months and days easier for him and the family.
