John S. Elmerick

John S. Elmerick, 58, passed away July 11, 2022.

Born in Akron, John had lived most of his life in the area.  He was employed with Roadway for 30 years.  John was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.  John had an adventurous spirit.  He loved to travel and always bought souvenirs for his nieces and nephews.  He enjoyed hiking, biking and bon fires.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Elmerick.

John is survived by his mother, Cecilia Elmerick of Tallmadge; sister, Susan (Matt) Bard of Twinsburg; brother, James Elmerick of Akron, his nieces and nephews were very important to him, James, Jr., Benjamin, Caroline, Kristine, Missy, Xander, Hunter, Oliver, and Emma; and Kathleen Burke of Cleveland.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge.

John's goal was to do mission work in South America, so the family is requesting donations in his memory to Diocesan Mission in El Salvador, c/o Cleveland Diocesan, 1404 E. 9th St., Cleveland, OH 44114.
