John Fletcher

John passed away quietly at home December 27, 2016. Born in Canton Ohio, he was 62 years old.

John was a Massillon football fan and enjoyed walking near the High School Football fields while the teams and band were practicing. John also enjoyed fishing. He loved his nephew Joey McClain very much and they talked on the phone often. John liked helping others by giving them a ride to medical appointments, to get medicine or just to the super market. He enjoyed the independence of driving and owning his car. John worked at Republic Steel where his father had worked.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Wilbur and Mary Fletcher.

John is survived by his sister and care giver, Linda (Fletcher) McClain, brother, David Fletcher, and sister, Beverly Fletcher.

Visitation will be 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Jackson, 8925 Strausser ST. N.W. Massillon, Ohio 44646.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation with Pastor Tom Gang officiating.

His resting place will be alongside his mother and father at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
