John D Frisby, Jr

John D. Frisby Jr. took his final journey to his last resting place on March 5, 2025 at the age of 76. Born in Akron, Ohio, he lived most of his life in the Hudson and Akron area. He and his wife then spent their retirement years in Tallmadge, Ohio and Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" and Dorothy; and sister, Catherine Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cindy; daughters, Tegwen (Michael) Beaudreau, Rachel (Matthew) Urbanic, and Chelsea (William) Dodson; son Jonathan "JT" Frisby; grandchildren, Maggie, Reagan, Logan, Aiden, Jack, and Wyatt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John was a local attorney for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2016. He was a member of Christ Church Episcopal of Hudson approaching 60 years.

John spent the last decade traveling the world with Cindy. He played golf for many years and truly treasured spending time with his family. He devoted countless hours in his garage fixing and repairing cars with his talented son; especially his prized 1960 Corvette.

During the Vietnam Conflict, John served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, HQ 11th Marines,1st MarDiv. Throughout his two-years of service with distinction, John was known as "Hawk". He earned several prestigious medals including: Two (2) Purple Hearts, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal w/1*, RVN Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, and the Good Conduct Medal. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as his many friends will attest.

Friends may call 2:00 p.m. on April 19 followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony at 3:00 at the Italian-American Citizen Club, 1521  9th Street, Cuyahoga Falls.

In lieu of flowers we request donations to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

There will also be a private memorial service at the Arlington National Cemetery.
