John Vincent "Jack" Malloy

John Vincent "Jack" Malloy, 81, died peacefully on Sunday morning, March 5, 2017, with his sister Theresa by his side.

Jack was born on February 22, 1936 to Ada and Ray Malloy in Akron, OH. He was one of 11 children raised on North Hill. He attended St. Vincent High School where he proudly played basketball for the "Irish". Jack loved sports especially basketball and coached youth for many years.

Jack proudly served in the US Navy. Upon his return he worked for Summit County Health Department until his retirement.

He is survived by his sister, Theresa Dorricott and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Ada and Ray; infant sister, Cecelia; and sisters, Mercedes Malloy OP, Helen Gadanac, Kitty Lavery, Pat Totaro, Rita Nelson; and brothers, Joseph, Richard and Ray Malloy. A private graveside service for the family will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 beginning at 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery.
