John Kalbfleisch

August 16, 1932 — January 22, 2016

John Kalbfleisch, 83, passed away January 22, 2016 after a long illness.

He was born August 16, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Russell and Elizabeth Kalbfleisch.

John graduated from Redford Township High School and joined the family laundry and dry cleaning business.  He served in the Naval Reserves from 1951 to 1959.  John subsequently became a sales representative in the industrial chemical industry where he served in various capacities for 40 years.  He retired from Univar in 1998. He was a member of First Congregational Church of Tallmadge and PrimeTimers. He  enjoyed golf, bridge, live theater, and spending time with family and travel.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Ivy Jean Clark; brothers, William Kalbfleisch and cousin, Richard Barker.

John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy; sons, J. Michael Kalbfleisch of Zionsville, IN, Todd Russell (Janet) Kalbfleisch of Braidwood, IL; grandchildren, Eryn Kalbfleisch (David Hulse), Elizabeth Kalbfleisch (Nicholas Robinette), John Kalbfleisch, and James Kalbfleisch; great grandchildren, Lauren Rosier, Bailey Rosier, John "Jack" Kalbleisch, and Aliya Hulse

Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2016 at First Congregational Church, 85 Heritage Dr., Tallmadge with Rev. Dr. John Schleup officiating.  Visitation 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to service.

Inurnment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 70 W. Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH  44236 or Akron Children's Medical Center, One Perkins Square, Akron, OH  44308.
