John Francis Stanley

John Francis Stanley passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2024 surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Delores Stanley; siblings, James, William and Rosemary.

John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janet (Evans) Stanley.  He was a proud father of his 3 children, Brian (Carrie) Stanley, Beth Gregory and Melissa (Steve) Parks.

John was a doting Papa of 6 grandchildren, Heather (Nadif) Taylor, Daniel Gregory, Allie (Colin) & Alex Stanley, Carter & Colin Parks, 2 great grandchildren Micah and Lilliana Taylor.

John is survived by his sisters, Anne Miller & Caroline (Joe) Lammlein, brother-in-law, Don Lewis and niece Shannon.

John became a proud alumnus of Akron East High School in 1966 and dedicated countless hours to the alumni association of which he was a founding member.   After John retired as a VP at Command Plastic Corporation, he spent his spare time with family, friends and fun jobs at Firestone Country Club and Thomas Limousine.

Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to the Akron East High Alumni Association.

A service will be held in John's honor at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home by close family friend, Rev. Mike Nickolich.

A celebration of life will be set at a later date.
