John Edward Steiner

John Edward Steiner, 54, went home to the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on May 3, 2017. A lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls, he graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1980.

John served a period of time in the Marine Corps. He was an active member with Journey Covenant Church of Cuyahoga Falls for the past 18 years, assisting with Christ Kitchen, sound board, as well as many other activities. He also was involved with the Salvation Army for the past 18 years, receiving an award for Helping Hands in 2012. John was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed playing and watching golf. His favorite teams were the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Blue Jackets hockey team.

John, a.k.a, "Uncle Hat", was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Durward and Georgia Steiner.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Kristina; daughter and the twinkle in his eye, Kalan (Jason); brothers, Chris (Dorothy), Garry (MaryAnn); sisters, Beverly (John) Poiner, Beckey (Craig) Clemens; Tracy (Ken) Kessel, Michelle (Bruce) Gera.; mother in law, Linda Knight; brother in law, Aaron (Denise) Knight, sister in law, Paula (Rick) Hernandez; 13 nephews, nine nieces, many great nieces and nephews; his beloved pet, Lil Bear, as well as extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) with a short service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Pat Zanin and Pastor Jeanette Brown officiating.
