John Strott

John Strott, 80, passed away November 25, 2018. Born in Bellaire, he grew up in Shadyside, OH.   He had lived in Tallmadge since 1964.

John retired from Goodyear / Lockheed Martin with 38 years of service. He was a 1955 graduate of Shadyside High School and a 1959 graduate of Kent State University. John was a member of First Congregational Church of Tallmadge and the Mogadore VFW.   He loved family above all else and the many Disney vacations with them, world traveling, good friends, and great food.   He was a car enthusiast, the ultimate fixer, and enjoyed watching Cleveland sports and the Ohio State Buckeyes when he wasn't tinkering.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Leona Strott; father and mother-in-law, Emerson and Vesta Linerode; son-in-law, John Zreny; brother-in-law, Scott Eubank.

John is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Wanda; daughters, Amy Zreny; Wendy (Eric) Mettes; son, Doug (Sharon) Strott; grandchildren, John, Brad (Melissa) and Ryan Zreny, Hannah and Andrew Strott, Josie and Sophia Mettes.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Shirley Eubank and brother-in-law, Larry (Sue) Linerode, and several nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 1:00 until 4:00 p.m.  Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. David Brumbaugh officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Congregational Church Atrium Fund, 85 Heritage Dr. Tallmadge, Oh 44278.
