John W. Weeks, Jr., 81, of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2015.
Born on April 12, 1933, in Akron, Ohio to the late Margaret O. Weeks and John W. Weeks, Sr. John was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving his country in the Air Force. He loved the Lord and his church where he was involved in several activities. John attended the Cornerstone Free Methodist Church where he was head usher for several years. He volunteered for over ten years as a driver for the Soap Box Derby. He took pride in his job where he met the champs and drove them to their activities. His enthusiasm for cars, led to his collection of over 100 Diecast model cars of which he was very proud. John was a car sales man throughout his career. Later, he enjoyed working at Enterprise where he retired from.
John is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Ed) Miller, Cathy (J.) Mason, and Connie Weeks; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of John's life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, 578 Killian Rd., Akron with Pastor Brenda Young officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Free Methodist Church.
