Jon Ralph Denholm, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 19, 2024 after a long illness.
He was born on March 15, 1946 in the Kenmore neighborhood of Akron where he attended Kenmore High School and played football. His love of football took him to the University of Akron (1964-67) where he would become a defensive captain of the team.
Jon was always willing to lend a helping hand, he had a big heart and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed home improvement projects, good conversations over a cup of coffee and spending time outdoors. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his three grandsons, whom he loved dearly.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bill. He is survived by his son Matt (Jasmin) Denholm, daughter Katelyn (Robert) Kynkor, nephews William (Char) Denholm, Jesse (Amanda) Denholm and grandsons Keaton, Cole and Collin.
On behalf of the Denholm family, we are especially grateful to the entire staff of Tamarack Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for their devoted support and care over the last year.
Jon's wishes were to have an outdoor gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life - details will be forthcoming.
