Josephine (Lombardo) Leonardi

It is with great sadness that the Leonardi Family announces the passing of Josephine Ann Leonardi, on January 14, 2021, at the age of 94.

Born on October 9, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, to Paul and Mary (Iorio) Lombardo.  Josephine graduated from Akron South High School in 1944 and married Frank Leonard in 1946.  Together they raised a family of six children. She belonged to Our   Lady  of  Victory Church in Tallmadge.  After raising her family, Josephine was employed as a secretary for Akron Public Schools.

Josephine always put family first.  She wanted nothing more than for her family to be all together for a picture. She taught responsibility to her 6 children and 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Josephine leaves Frank, her lifelong love and dance partner of over 70 years, and children, Bob Leonardi (Connie), Susan Oakleaf, Carlo (Mike) Long, Tom (Lori) Leonardi, Bill (Sandy) Leonardi, and Denise (Terry) Glandorf.

Josephine was the third oldest of 6 kids. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Marian Zugaro and Pauline (Don) Rainey; brother, Andy (Karen) Lombardo and many nieces and nephews.

Internment will take place on Friday September 3, 2021 at 1:15 PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave. with Rev. Michael Matusz officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/. Those who are unvaccinated or at risk are asked to please consider continuing to wear a face covering while in Church.

In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still, in our hearts you hold a place no one ever will.
