Julia Ann Finney

August 27, 1934 — December 21, 2018

Julia Ann Finney, 84, of Akron Ohio, passed away, surrounded by family on December 21, 2018.

Judy was born in Wilbur, West Virginia on August 27, 1938 to Dale and Eska Weekley.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Eska Weekley; son, Marc; and her brother, Michael.

Judy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ronald, her high school sweetheart; son, Erik (Wendy) Finney; sister, Bonnie Slinkosky; sister in law and best friend, Wanda Weekley; sister in laws, Barb Roberts and Roberta Sikula; brother in law, Bob (Ann) Rutan; granddaughters, Brittany (Dale) Spain, Carlie (Rob) Mariano, Anna Finney and Hannah Nicodemus; four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Judy retired from Goodyear with 44 years of service.  She was a strong woman that was fiercely loyal and compassionate with a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile that would light up a room.  Family was everything to her and so was Ron, the love of her life!  She loved to get dressed up and to dances with him.  They would spend all night dancing and listening to Big Band music.  Judy loved all kinds of music and always had it playing in her home.  She found great joy in working outside, getting her hands dirty on whatever project came her way.  Judy loved spending time with family and friends at her home away from home in West Union, West Virginia.  Most of all, she loved to laugh!  She could find humor in any situation, no matter the circumstance!

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he wrapped his arms around you and whispered "Come to Me".  With tearful eyes, we watched you and saw you pass away.  Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.  A precious heart stopped beating, loving hands now at rest.  God broke our hearts to prove to us that he only takes the best!
