Katharina Habel

Our dear Mother, Grandmother, and Oma, Katharina Habel, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2022, after a long illness.

Born in Buk, Yugoslavia (Croatia), Kathy immigrated to the United States in 1951. She was a lifelong seamstress, starting in Austria, retiring from Kenmore Tailors, and ended by making hundreds of masks for family and friends during the pandemic. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victory Church and an active member of the German Family Society.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Mathias; her parents, Josef and Maria; and her infant brother, Anthony.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Beckie) Habel, Robert (Kristen) Habel, and Janet Todd, as well her sisters, Theresa Sensius and Ann Buynak.  She was a loving Grandma/Oma to eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Her generosity and love will remain a guiding beacon to her family.  She and her quick wit will be greatly missed.  The family would like to thank the staff of Summa hospice and her Angel Helpers for their loving and special care.

Visitation will be 1 until 4 pm Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Mass of a Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am, Monday, August 22, 2022, at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge. The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
