Kathleen E. (Giles) Gilson

Kathleen (Kathy) Gilson, 60, passed away May 31, 2021. She was born in Akron and lived all of her life in the area.

Kathy loved her animals and lighthouses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Elaine Giles; brother, Brian L. Giles; sister, Lori A. Trusso.

Kathy is survived by her husband, David; sons, Richard Michael Slates (Madeline Hanzes) of Warren, Travis James Slates (Teagan) of North Canton; grandchildren, Athena Ra and Parker James; brothers, Ernest R. Giles (Pama) of Texas, David L. (Cindy) Giles of Kent; sisters, Linda J. (Russ) Heiser of Mogadore, Sandra L. (Daniel) Collins of South Carolina; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Celebration of life will be 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July  6, 2021 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Russ Heiser officiating.
