Kay Lynn (Ferrara) Tafini

Kay Lynn Tafini, 83, of Brimfield, passed away on May 17, 2025. She was born in Akron and lived most of her life in the Munroe Falls and Kent area. Kay Lynn was a nurse at St. Thomas Hospital and for Dr. Gulmi before retiring in 2001.  She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Kay Lynn was a great baker and enjoyed sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Siv and Betty Ferrara; granddaughter Loren Perkowski and brother-in-law Roger Tafini.

Kay Lynn is survived by her husband, Robert; daughters, Shannon (Mike) Fortney of Brimfield, Colleen (Doug) Henely of Nebraska; sons, Gregg (Kelly) Perkowski of Kent, Shaun (Tiffiany) Perkowski of West Virginia; step-daughter, Sharla (Leif) Helmuth of Tallmadge; step-sons, Steve (Bea Bet) Tafini of Cuyahoga Falls, Scott (Maria) Tafini of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Megan (Ben) Russell and Christian Perkowski, Cameron Fortney, Luke, Julianna, Jacob, Daniel and Veronica Perkowski, Cullen and Callie Fisch, Kit and Emmy Heneley, Vincent Tafini, Amanda Sabetta, Alex Tafini, Nicolas Tafini and Victoria (Tyler) Chmielewski, Evan and Keon Dalziel; six great grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Lee Ferrara, Marty (Joe) Staud; sister-in-law Rose Hiner of Lisbon; brothers in law Donald (Karan) Tafini of Minerva, Ronald (Gay) Tafini of Salem; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge, OH 44278 (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, May 22, 2025, 10:00 a.m.at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge, with Father Pete Coletti officiating.  Procession will meet at the church.

Interment will be at Standing Rock Cemetery.
