We lost our sweet princess, Lauren Nicole Porter on May 13, 2016 at only 21 years of age.
Lauren graduated from Ellet High School and worked at City Cleaners. She also attended Cottage Grove and Akron First Evangelical Church. Lauren had a smile that would light up every room. She loved to sing, dance and everything Wizard of Oz. She was queen of the selfie and an honorary member of the Pink Diamonettes, a club Lauren made up when she was a little girl. Their motto "girls rule and boys drool".
Lauren was preceded in death by her grandfather William Starkey; aunt, Michelle Starkey; uncle, Michael Porter; and special friend, Sandra Collins.
She is survived by her parents, Debbie and Jeff Porter; brother, Nicholas (Brooke) Porter; grandmother, Sandra Starkey all of Akron, grandparents, Ronald and Emma Porter of Tallmadge; aunts, Julie (Paul) Light, Becky (Tony) Sims, Linda Porter; uncles, Tim (Jeannie) Starkey, Todd (Tiffiny) Starkey; nieces Evelyn, Emma and Tessa; nephew, J.J.; many cousins and special friends Heather and Jim Mancini.
Calling hours will be 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Carr and Rev Bob Shuey officiating.
Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
