Lee Malicoat, 77, passed away January 12, 2025.
Born in Akron, Lee had lived in Canada and returned to Akron ten years ago. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, where he was awarded two Purple Hearts. Lee retired in 2006 from General Motors with 27 years of service. He enjoyed playing corn hole and curling. After retiring, Lee and Linda traveled over 100,000 miles throughout the United States on their Gold Wing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Carol Malicoat.
Lee is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Perry (Leah) Malicoat and Casey (Julie) Malicoat both of Akron; grandchildren, Josh, Casandra (Adam) Johnson, Brooke (Cherokee) Malicoat, Autumn (Josh Rayl), Nick, Megan; great grandchildren, Adalyn, Grayson, and Cheyanne; brother, Kenneth (Kathy) Malicoat of Tallmadge.
Visitation will be 3 until 5 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Funeral Service to follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
