Obituary

Leonard B. Bolden, Jr., 85, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014.

Len was born Sept. 19, 1928 to Agnes Ethel Ross Bolden and Leonard Berle Bolden.  A lifelong Akron resident, he served in the US Army as a medic during the Korean War. Len founded and was president of Advertising Supply Company, and was active in several business organizations, including Akron Jaycees, Kiwanis Club, Akron Executive Assoc., Rotary Club, and North Akron Bd. of Trade. He also served on the City of Akron Planning Commission.

Preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Gracie Patterson and Agnes Cook; Len is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Emaline (Salem); sons Len III (special friend, Natalie Machek), and Bruce (Desiree); grandchildren Caitlin and Ian; brother-in-law Paul Salem; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Len loved time with his family and friends, was quick with a joke for every occasion, and will be missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 27 from 4-7pm at Hennessy Funeral Home, 552 N. Main St., Akron (corner of York & Main). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 11am at First Congregational Church in Akron.  A Private Burial will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Congregational Church, where Len was a proud member for 71 years, at 292 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44308
