Leonard O. Ridenour, Sr., 77, passed away July 29, 2016.
Born in Akron, Leonard had lived in Tallmadge for the last 18 years. He served in the U.S. Army and retired in 2001 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 38 years of service. He was a member of Apostolic Temple of Akron, where he left his testimony that he was "Still in the Church, Still have the Holy Ghost, and Still subject to the man of God", and loved playing Monopoly.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Ridenour.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley; daughters, Debra (Melvin) Cottrill of Parkersburg, WV, Sheri (Mike) Poole of Akron, Linda (Billy) Nix of Sulpher, LA, and Melissa (Dan) Geraghty of Navarre; sons, Jeff (Alicia) Thornburg and Leonard (Bonnie) Ridenour, Jr. all of Akron; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Lowell Ridenour of St. Petersburg, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Apostolic Temple of Akron, 2842 Albrecht Ave., Akron with Pastor Don Meade, Sr. officiating.
Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
