Leslie "Ho" R. Cockerham

Les "Ho" Cockerham passed away July 8, 2022.

Les was born May 20, 1935 in Friars Hill WV to the late Avery Lee and Grace Cockerham.

HE was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne, who passed away July 8, 2005. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Bill; sisters, Norma Bingham and Lois Matheny. We will miss Dad as he joins them in heaven.

Ho is survived by his seven children:  Dawn, Jane, Kim, Lori, Mark, Michele & Rob; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren including one on the way.   He loved and was so very proud of each of them.

He also leaves behind nephews, nieces, neighbors & friends all who he called Ho.  Ho wasn't good with names.   He would call you by 2 or 3 other names before getting to your name.   It was easier and quicker to call everyone Ho.   He used the greeting "Hi Ho" so often that he became known as Ho.

Ho loved jokes, baseball, football, dogs and staying busy.   He used to ride a motorcycle and raised & showed German Shepherds.  He had interest in NASA space exploration and sang karaoke after he lost his vocal cords.

Our family wishes to thank Kris Fitzwater for her wonderful loving care provided to Dad over the years.   Thank you to her husband Kenny & all of Kris's family who missed her while she was helping her Uncle Les.  She made his life better, happier and we so appreciate her.

Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle) with Chaplain Tony Huggins officiating. Thanks to Chaplain Tony and Donovan Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
