Lois "Imy" Imogene (Witsaman) Christner

December 11, 1922 — December 15, 2017

Imy was called home by her Lord on December 15, 2017 at 95 years of age. Born in Akron by her parents, Edward Nelson Witsaman and Nettie Elnora Smith, into a family of three sisters (Winifred, Dawn, Edna) and one brother (Glenwood). Imy attended and graduated from Akron Central High School. While a senior at Central, she met Milton E. Christner who was a freshman at the University of Akron. Their courtship was simple and later culminated in a family wedding at the home of the bride. The Christner's then embarked on a marriage that lasted 74 years. The lived 65 years in Cuyahoga Falls and the last 11 years in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

Imy found joy and satisfaction in making a home, raising her three sons, and serving the Lord through her church ministries. She loved to bowl, square dance, and study her Bible. She was a member of the YMCA Couples Club. In 1960, she accepted Christ as her savior through a home Bible study which significantly transformed her life. Because of her love for babies, she managed the Nursery Department at the Stow Alliance Fellowship. Throughout her ministry, she enjoyed her contact with young mothers. She also assisted her husband in the Stow Home Bible Study Seminar program. The Christner's were members of the Stow church for 43 years.

Imy leaved behind: Lynda Christner (widow of Rev. Craig D. Christner, a former Brethren pastor and school superintendent), Rev. David A. Christner (Janice) a retired C&MA pastor and clinical counselor, and Mark Scott Christner (Jody) a computer technician based in Delaware, Ohio.  Imy and Milt have 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
