On August 11, 2024, Loralea M. Cevasco's beautiful journey on earth ended, and she peacefully returned to her heavenly home to rejoice, reunited with her husband, Robert, who preceded her in 2017.
Born in Akron, Ohio on June 23, 1931 to Thomas and Alma Gray, Loralea had lived in Tallmadge since 1957.
She grew up in Goodyear Heights and was graduated from East High School in 1949. She took a year of commercial studies and voice at The University of Akron. Then Loralea met the love of her life, Bob, at a dance at Church of the Annunciation, and they were married in 1950. Together, they raised their large family in Tallmadge.
Although Loralea would say her greatest accomplishment was raising her family, she also was very active in the community and her church, and worked with her husband and son, Kevin, in their family jewelry store, Cevasco's Jewelers as a Graduate Gemologist.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, where she was instrumental in starting the Music Ministry as well as an active member, was the director of the youth group, taught religious education classes, hosted Bible studies, Agape groups and was a lector and Eucharistic minister.
Loralea was also very involved in the community. She was an officer of the Tallmadge Chamber of Commerce, and voted Tallmadge Citizen of The Year. Always a fan of the arts and theater, Loralea was active in Tallmadge's Dynamics Theater, both on stage and behind the scenes. She also sang with the Akron Symphony Orchestra , as well as for many wedding in the area.
Bob and Loralea always opened their home and hearts to others, especially priests - both local and from around the world - and welcomed all to their table where everyone became part of their family. As much as she loved people, Loralea also loved her dogs, and had many throughout her life. Christmas and St. Patrick's Day were her favorite holidays, and she went all out decorating and celebrating them. And everyone knew what her current favorite color was by the paint on her front door.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Beverly McFerren, her brothers Glendon and Russell, her husband of 67 years, Robert D. Cevasco and infant daughter, Laura Lee.
Loralea is survived by her children and her children's spouses who she considered her children too, Paul (Chris), R. Daniel (Connie), David (Jan), Mike (Margaret), Kevin (Cathy), Rick (Rita), Julie (Jerry Sisko), Mark and Scott (Beth). Grandchildren, Nate (Meghan), Caitlin (Bob Ambramovich), Megan (Kyle Crissinger), Kacy (Jason Cowie), Cory (Jen), David (Kim), Heather (Aaron Ayris), Sandy (Darrell Jones), Shawn (Marc Lewis), Angela, Tony (Tana), John (Ashley), Emma (Zach Rice), Moira (David Chrzanowski), Vinny (Anna), Nicole (Dan Cochran), Joe (Stacie) Sisko, Jonathan Sisko, Zack, Jacob, Dominic (Molly), Benjamin (Karly), Natalie and Nicholas and 40 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank everyone at Danbury Senior Living for all their love and care they gave Loralea throughout these years.
