Lorene C. Capriulo, 76, passed away January 26, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Lorene was a lifetime resident of Akron, Ohio.  She was a graduate of St. Vincent High School, Class of '57. Lorene loved to travel, fulfilling a lifelong dream of going to Italy.  She loved the beauty of the water, going on cruises and enjoying her lakeside home on Middle Bass Island.  She had a love of fun and celebration and was always the first one on the dance floor when the music started to play.   She was a wonderful cook and opened her heart and kitchen to all who crossed her door.  If Lorene came into your life for a season, a reason, or a lifetime, you know you were truly blessed. She leaves a legacy of being a loving, caring and nurturing wife, mother, aunt and grandmother.   She was very proud of her family; especially her grandchildren.  We are heartbroken, but know that she would want us to celebrate her life and to find peace in knowing she is safe in the hands of our Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Schlaker and her beloved brother, James Schlaker, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 57 years, Paul Capriulo; her daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Scott Cornell, Lauran and Dana Kunze and Paula and Terry Heil; grandchildren, Alyse and Marie Kunze and her fiancé, Mark Cottrill, Alex and Andrew Heil and Michael Cornell; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 30th, at Blessed Trinity Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held from 4-8 PM, Friday, January 29th, at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main), 552 N. Main St., Akron, Ohio 44310.
