Lowell Earl Mulhollen

January 11, 1932 — December 24, 2023

Tallmadge

Lowell E. Mulhollen entered the gates of heaven December 24, 2023. He was born January 11, 1932, in Akron, Ohio to the proud parents of Earl and Arlene Mulhollen. He was the eldest of four children.

During his school years he worked as a newspaper carrier at the young age of twelve. He went on to work in the Acme stores. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1949. He married the love of his life, Gloria, in 1951 and began his employment at Akron Standard.

Lowell was called on to serve his country in 1952 and saw active duty in Korea. His role was as a Radio Operator stationed on a hill 10 miles from DMZ. He was always proud of his service to his country. Once back home Lowell returned to his career with Akron Standard. While working and raising a young family, Lowell earned his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management and then an MBA from the University of Akron.

Lowell spent 38 years at Akron Standard, working his way up from the shop floor to the top leadership role of president. He also served on The University of Akron's College of Business Advancement Council. His accomplishments were recognized by multiple articles in the Akron Beacon Journal. Despite being in the limelight, he was a humble, loving man more concerned about the greater good of the lives he touched. He was an active member of the Tallmadge United Methodist Church where he chaired committees, as well as, pitched in where needed. Everyone could count on Lowell.

Lowell was a talented woodworker, designing and building many projects. He updated the second floor of his first home, designed and updated the kitchen in his most recent home, built a grandfather clock, a changing table for his first grandchild and a full-size playhouse in his basement for his grandchildren to name a few.

Lowell was proceeded in death by his parents, Earl and Arlene.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; his sons, Greg (Dee) and David (Diane); grandchildren, Lindsay (Brian), Mark (Lexi), Matthew, and Kaylee (David); his soon to be born great grandson, Milo; his brother, "Jack" (Sandy); and his sisters, Joyce (Fred) and Darlene (Butch).

Lowell will be deeply missed by family and friends who are so thankful for how deeply he impacted their lives. Our loss is Heaven's gain!
