Mabel "Gerri" Geraldine (Newlon) Jones

Mabel "Gerri" Jones 99, passed away December 9, 2023.  Born in Uniontown, Pa, at an early age, she quickly had become a lifetime resident of Tallmadge, Ohio.

Gerri worked as a WW II "Rosie the Riveter" at Goodyear Aircraft factory in Akron. Ohio. Gerri married her former Tallmadge classmate, Carroll Jones, after he returned from the war and celebrated more than 73 years of marriage.

Her hobbies included frequenting church bizarres with her best friends, Bible study classes, playing the piano/organ, backyard picnics, family reunions in Parkersburg, W VA, trips with Prime Timers and Kiwanis, reading, word search puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll; son, Dan (Shirley); and parents, William and Ethel, and step-mother Lucy Newlon.

Gerri is survived by daughters; Becky (David), Karen; grandson, Bryan; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private graveside service has taken place at the Tallmadge Cemetery officiated by Rev. Robin Adair.
