Obituary

Manny DiFrangia, born 9/4/1950, passed away on July 19, 2018. Manny, son of Olga (Carnevale) and David DiFrangia, lived his entire life in Akron, Ohio.  He leaves behind his wife Ann; sons, Santino and Josef; his stepchildren, Sara (Victor) and Allan; grandchildren, Enrico, Aria, Luciano, and Gabriella; brother, Frank; and his dearest friend, Father Norman Douglas. He is also survived by cherished members of the Carnevale, DiFrangia and Laurella families.

Manny was a graduate of North High School and The University of Akron, where he obtained a Master's degree in Social Work.  He worked in the Akron area for over twenty-five years as a Chemical Dependency counselor.  He reached out to those suffering from addictions in his unique style, sharing his own story of recovery and journeying with them.

A time of remembrance and fellowship will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Monday, July 23, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 164 West Market Street, Akron.  A mass will follow at 11:00 am.  Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
