Marguerite "Peggy" (Mileski) Shunk

Marguerite "Peggy" Shunk, 88, passed away September 26, 2023.

Born in Akron, Peggy had lived in the Akron area all of her life.  She retired in 2006 from Buckingham Doolittle and Burroughs after 12 years of service.  Peggy was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, where she volunteered for funeral luncheons and the church Rummage Sale. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, she ushered for E.J. Thomas, and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House.  Peggy coached baseball and volleyball, and was a Girl Scout leader.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Stanley and Sophie Mileski.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Katrina (Tim Eaton) Shunk of Akron; sister, Bernadette (Curtis) Manning of Greenville, SC; brother, Stanley (Betty) Mileski of Greenville, SC; and granddogs.

Visitation will be 11:00 until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge.

Mass of Christian burial will follow visitation at the church with Rev.  Michael Matusz officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
