Marie Perrino, 93, passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2022, with her family by her side.
Marie was born in 1929 in Akron, Ohio to the late Thomas and Luisa (Diorio) LaPenna, and lived most of her life there after moving from Newark, NJ in 1960. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Akron.
Marie worked for many years at Carlton Clothes and O'Neil's Department Store, both in Downtown Akron, and retired from May Company at Chapel Hill Mall in 1994.
She was a long-time member of the former Christ the King Church, and most recently, Blessed Trinity Parish. Marie participated in the Tallmadge Limbercize class, as a member of Tallmadge Primetimers, and the Italian Center Club.
Marie treasured family summer vacations at "The Shore" in Wildwood, NJ, walking the Boardwalk, riding the Tram Car, and savoring the sun and sand. She enjoyed visiting local shrines, casinos, dining and shopping with family or friends, watching cooking shows and EWTN's Mother Angelica, and trips to the ice cream shop for her favorite butter pecan cone. Above all, Marie loved spending time with her family, cooking and eating good Italian food, sharing recipes, and spoiling her grandchildren. She loved to laugh, have fun, and make beautiful memories.
Marie is survived by daughters, Mary Lou (John) Campbell, Anna Farmer, and Johanna Perrino; son, Anthony (Julie) DeLuca; grandchildren, Joseph Campbell, Christine (Chris) Wenning, Stephanie (Ben Ogle) Campbell, Jennifer Wolf, Jessica (Nick) Feruito, Anthony DeLuca, and Adam, Neal, and Andrew Farmer; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; sister, Angie Ryan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by husbands, Pompey DeLuca and John Perrino; daughter, Patricia Rose DeLuca; Son-in-law, Thomas Farmer; Grandson-in-law, Bryon Wolf; nephews, James and Terry Ryan; loving aunts, uncles, and friends.
