Martha F Moyer

Martha Weaver-Moyer, 89, went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2016. She was born and raised in Copperhill, TN and has lived in the Akron area since 1953.

For 23 years, Martha worked in the St. Thomas Hospital department of medical records. She had a feisty spirit and was passionate about her kids and grandkids. From dancing in the streets of the French Quarter to eloping in Vegas at 68 years old, she lived a full and happy life. She was lovingly known by most as "Mawmaw" and adored by all who met her. She never met a stranger.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Arlon Weaver Sr. and her husband of 2 years, Bill Moyer; her parents, Pink and Mary Etta McCarter; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Her legacy lives on in her large family. Martha is survived by her children, Arlon (Ruby) Weaver Jr., Linda Weaver, Samuel Stephen (Cathy) Weaver, Laura (Stan) Stacy and Ronald (Mary Jane) Weaver. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Michael (Jana) Weaver, Susan (Antoine) Brown, Mindy Weaver, Daniel (Melissa) Weaver, Stephen (Tara) Weaver Jr., Jenny (Jason) Pennell, Angela (Matt) Lanter, Jimmy (BettyRose) Weaver, Chad Weaver and Michelle Weaver, as well as 14 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Also her sister-in-law, Cathryn McCarter, brother-in-law, Leland Weaver, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A special thanks to Akron General VNS Hospice Care Center staff for the wonderful care they gave Martha.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle)

Funeral Services will be at 7 p.m., immediately following the calling hours at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Jacobs officiating.

Interment will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016 Zion Hill Cemetery in Turtletown, Tennessee.
