Martin Felkl, 96, passed away August 28, 2024. Born on April 3, 1928 in Krndija, Yugoslavia. He and his brother Hansi survived the war and immigrated to the US in 1952. He met his future wife, Elisabeth, not long after moving to the Akron area. They were married 59 years before Elisabeth passed, and together lovingly raised their 3 children.
Martin retired from Reuther Mold and Manufacturing as a welder and fitter. He was a member of German Family Society and Holy Family Catholic Church. Martin enjoyed dances at the GFS, fishing, bowling, fixing motors until they were unfixable, family get-togethers, playing cards and going to the casino on occasion.
He was preceded in death by his parents the late Martin and Anna Felkl; wife, Elisabeth; son and daughter in law Martin M (Drusilla) Felkl; brothers Michael, Joseph, Frank, John (Hansi); sisters, Anna and Thekla.
Martin will be dearly missed by his daughters, Anne (John) Bass and Ingrid (Michael) Woodling both of Munroe Falls; grandchildren Shannon Felkl (Chris Pilz), Lauren Bass (Logan Rogers), Kayla Felkl (Ben Boggs), Michael Bass and Gretchen Woodling; nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial mass will be held for Martin, and his brother John (who also passed recently), on October 5, 2024 at 11:00 with a visitation at 10:15 beforehand at St. Francis de Sales Parish 4019 Manchester Rd Akron, OH 44319. A light meal with be served afterward.
