Martin "Marty" Brian Paratore, born November 15, 1956, passed from this earth peacefully Sunday, June 1st, with his family by his side. His brother, Vincent Steven Paratore, preceded Marty in death.

Marty is survived by his parents, Evelyn Hall Paratore and James (Helen) Paratore, his long time partner in life Tammy Frizek, his sons Steven Allan Paratore and Vincent Michael Paratore, his siblings Deborah Leigh Paratore of Washington D.C., Andrea Lynn (Andrew) Borowiec of Akron, OH, David Michael (Catherine) Paratore of Austin, TX, Ronald Jay Paratore of Akron, OH, and Patricia Ann Paratore of Herndon, VA.  Marty also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews.

Marty was born in Akron, Ohio, grew up in Bath, Ohio and attended Revere High School. He served in the Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga. He lived most of his life in and around the Akron area. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and was the very proud owner of a vintage Harley Davidson.  During the last months of his life, Marty fought a courageous battle against the cancer mesothelioma.

The family wishes to thank the supportive and caring staff at the Cleveland VA Hospital, and the Cleveland Clinic staff of unit J5-5, especially Dr. David Mason and all of Marty's nurses.

Marty's family will receive extended family and friends on Friday, June 6, from 5 to 8 pm at Hennessy Funeral Home, 552 N Main St, Akron, OH 44310. Private interment will take place on October 13, 2014, at 9:30 a.m., at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
