Marvella V (Morris) Pierce

August 16, 1921 — October 6, 2017

Marvella Pierce, 96, passed away October 6, 2017. Born in Syracuse, New York, she had lived in Tallmadge since 1954.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, in 2006.  She worked for 11 years as a secretary at Kent State University.

Marvelous Marvella lived a life of happiness and openness.  She travelled a lot: rode a camel in Egypt, broke bread in Tahiti.  She took college classes as a senior citizen, did volunteer work, wrote book reviews.  Her optimism was unflagging.  Her caring was boundless.  She attended to her own mom, and her husband, she never wavered in putting her children first in her life.  Her joy and good humor will be missed by friends and family alike.

Marvella is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Bill) Kearns of Columbus, Ohio; sons, Warren (Joan) Pierce of Aubrey, TX, and David (Mary Ann) Pierce of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Pierce of Los Alamos, NM; Michael (Glenda) Pierce of Allen, TX, David M.
