Mary L. Brinkerhoff

Mary L (Richards) Brinkerhoff-Vasbinder, 84, passed away on April 3, 2015.

Born September 13, 1930, Mary grew up in Tallmadge and attended Tallmadge High School.  She was voted senior prom queen and was a member of the cheerleading squad. She always looked forward to her annual class reunion.

Mary lovingly and successfully raised five boys in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  Her husband, the late Don Brinkerhoff, lost his long battle with cancer when the boys were still young, ranging in age from 6 to 17 years old.  Mary was lucky enough to fall in love again several years later when she wed Norman Vasbinder.  Mary lost Norman too soon to ALS, but gained a wonderful extended family in the process, who she welcomed and loved wholeheartedly.

Mary worked at Lawson's and Sears, and retired from FirstMerit Bank after working there for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Brinkerhoff and Norman Vasbinder.

Mary is survived by her sons, Myles Brinkerhoff, Mark (Linda) Brinkerhoff, Bruce (Sarah) Brinkerhoff, Paul Brinkerhoff, and Scott (Lynette) Brinkerhoff; brother, Dale (Charley) Richards; stepson, David (Sally) Vasbinder; stepdaughter, Carol Vasbinder;, and her 12 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge, OH. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Donovan Funeral Home with Dr. Irvin Green officiating.

Interment will be held at Tallmadge Cemetery.
