Mary A. Cull, age 97, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 in her home after a brief illness. Mary was born in Akron, Ohio on April 30, 1924. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and resided in the Akron, Fairlawn, and Broadview Heights area for most of her life. In recent years, she moved to Herrin, Illinois to live with her son Thomas, and his wife Maria Cull. Mary graduated from North High School, and then worked at Anderson Rubber Company until she met and married the love of her life, William E. Cull. She was a lifetime member of the Cassanese Auxiliary and received the honor of being named Mother of the Year. Mary attended the University of Akron where she took art classes to further her artistic abilities. Another one of her hobbies was belonging to a knitting club. Mary volunteered her services at St. Anthony's School performing various duties where needed, Mary was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and aunt to all of her family. Spending time with her family was the main joy of her life. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill, parents, Emilia and Rocco Masiella; brother Frank Masiella, sister-in-law, Clara Masiella, sisters Lucy Piscazzi, Jennie DiFrangia, Angela Policy, brothers-in-law, Rocco Piscazzi, Joseph DiFrangia, William Policy, and Anthony Scarpitti. She is survived by daughter, Amelia Cull Kostandaras, son Thomas (Maria) Cull, sister, Norma Scarpitti, grandchildren, Nicholas Kostandaras lll, Vincent (Linda) Cull, Jonathan (Gina) Kostandaras, Michael (Lauren) Kostandaras, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at HENNESSY Funeral Home, 552 N. Main St. Akron (corner of York and Main), followed by Mass of the Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's research hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 or St. Anthony's Church.
