IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary (Cicione)
Ludle
January 16, 1935 – May 13, 2021
Mary Ludle passed away peacefully on May 13, 2021 surrounded by her family after a long illness. Mary was born in Akron on January 16, 1935 to Domenico and Argentina Cicione. She was a graduate of South High School. Retired from Alside in 1996 after many years of service.
As a daughter of Italian immigrants, Mary was fiercely proud of her Italian heritage. As she liked to say, there are two kinds of people: those who are Italian and those who want to be Italian. Although she was the most wonderful wife and mother, her greatest role was that of a grandmother. She showered her grandchildren with love and they adored her. There was nothing pretentious about Mary, time with family and friends was most important. Sunday dinners and family gatherings were the norm. As an avid bridge player, a good game with friends was what she most loved.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Darrell after 60 years of marriage, parents Domenico and Argentina, sister Teresa (Gordon) Tibbs, and brother Ralph Cicione. She is survived by children, Chris (Jackie), Darrell, Tina Dunlap (Fiancé Michael Elchert) and Deanna (Dan) Horrigan; grandchildren Adam (Kayla), Zachary and Aaron Ludle; Sarah (Pete) Martinez and McKenzie Dunlap (Kris Beck), Dominic, Cassidy (Ian Urquhart), Kennedy and Camille Horrigan; great-grandchildren Luciano Martinez and Luca Jane Urquhart. Sister and brother in law Anne (Bob) Johann, sister in law Dolores Cicione, sister-in-law Sandi (Butch) Fair, brother-in-laws Durwood and Michael Ludle and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her devoted caregiver Ella.
