Melony K. Heyn

Melony K. Heyn, 69, went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2015.  Melony was born November 6, 1945, in Akron, Ohio to Charles E. and Violet I. Miller.

Melony is preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Miller and brother, Charles K. Miller.

Melony  is survived by her husband, Tom Heyn; mother, Violet Van Lear; son, Jeff(Karen) Smith; step-daughter, Kim (Paul) Klippel; step-sons, Phil (Amy) Heyn; Daniel Heyn; sister, Gayle Savage; nieces, Leigh Regan (Steve) Collier; Kylie Savage, Rachel (Doug) Miller; nephew, Charles E. Miller II.; grandchildren, Connor and Melina Smith; step-grandchildren, Alex, Audrey and Samantha Klippel, and Madison Heyn; great nieces and nephews, MacKenzie Savage, Jack Cooper, Bayley Cooper, Zachary Collier, and Whitney Collier.

Melony earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Hiram College and held a CPM Professional Certificate. She was employed by the Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University, Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, Ashland Chemical Company, Thermo-Rite, and Diebold.

Many hours were given to several organizations.  She was member and Past National President of Delta Theta Tau Sorority.   She spent many hours working at the famed Derby Downs Hill giving youths with disabilities the thrill of the race which is made possible through National Super Kids Classic and the Greater Ohio Super Kids Classic.

While in Florida, she golfed and relaxed at the Cypress Lake Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida.

Melony will be sadly missed by her friends and family.

Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. James Mitchell officiating.

Interment will be at Restland Cemetery.
