Michael Lee Wright, The One, The Only: In Loving Memory

After slaying Cancer (and all its fire-breathing chumps) and beating out Covid with the flick his trusty cane, Michael Lee Wright~ Beloved Veteran, Husband, Father, Grandfather, of fur babies, too, Brother, Uncle, Neighbor, Friend, Fellow Buckeye Fan, Master Fillet-er of Fish, Maker of the Cookie, Holder of the Terrible Towel, and our loudest and proudest of Steeler Nation~ battled his biggest bout yet on Friday, July 11th and forever retired his sword of pure black and gold steel for a cup of coffee with his passionately-loved wife of 53 years and their angel-baby. He believed Space is the Final Frontier and that emperors belong in a galaxy far far away. And that's why, as Mike would say, lions eat their young.

Medical Services Officers provided special tribute to Michael Lee Wright, Akron-born Scorpio son, November 16, 1952, and 50-year resident of Mogadore, Ohio, honoring him for his service with the U.S. Flag and salute before his beaming with pride wife and forever sweetheart, Becky Irene, Yo Adrian!, WIL-MA! surrounded by their cherished children Michelle Wright Dottore, Eric and Abbey Wright as well as their six treasured grandchildren; for him, there was no greater love, no greater light: Cory Michael, Tristan Lee, Kelsey and Matthew, Anthony, and Camden.

His life and legend are also celebrated by his brothers: Carl, Jeff, and DJ, and sisters: Judy, Nancy, Roberta, Sandra and Krista; and proceeding him in passing, his parents, Jessie Hall and Carl "Chester" Wright, parents-in-law, Donald and Connie Queer, and his sisters, Linda and Julie, and grandmother, Granny. Special thanks goes out to Summa ICU doctors and nurses in T3. Your vigilant care on the front line makes you family. Michael Lee Wright lived deeply, truly, and loudly, and he will be deeply, truly, and loudly missed.

We are "WITH YOU!" ~May you rest easy~ out in some woods near a fish-filled stream by a blazing campfire, drinking coffee, awaiting your one true love. Return to me. And if anyone asks, we'll say you're happily "under the hood," which just got a lot bigger!

Memorial Service in honor of Michael Lee Wright will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 2:45 p.m. Please arrive no earlier than 2:30 p.m. at the cemetery.
