Obituary

Nanci L. Mittiga, 73, passed away September 18, 2015. She was a long time educator with the Akron Public Schools retiring from Findley Elementary School. Nanci spent her retirement years with her friends, neighbors and card playing friends at Chapel Hill Towers. She was the first tenant to move into the Towers in 1963 being the last original tenant to reside there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Augie and Zeta Mittiga; aunt, Matilda (Ed) Nemecek; cousin, Betteann (Ted) Nime; and sister-in-law, Betty Mittiga. Nanci is survived by her brother, Robert (Ann Marie) Mittiga; aunt, Antoinette Schmiedl; uncle, Joseph Mittiga; nieces and nephews, Matthew (Heather) Mittiga, Melissa (George) Namay, Michael (Julie) Mittiga, Mark and Dominic Mittiga, Brijette (Joe) Steinmetz, Beth (Todd) Genovese, Edward and Ted Nime; twelve great-nieces and nephews and many cousins.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at St. Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron OH 44310. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Anthony Church.
