Obituary

Nancy Falasca, 84, passed away December 8, 2014. She was born in Carovilli, Italy and immigrated to Akron, Ohio in 1954. Nancy was a gifted tailor and seamstress her whole life and enjoyed sewing for her family. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Giulia Scarpitti; her sister, Elvira; and her beloved son, John Falasca. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 61 years, Paul; her children, Josephine (Bill) Dickey and Tony (Joanne) Falasca; grandchildren, Emily (Greg) Palmer, Philip Dickey, Gino and Ross Falasca; she was a proud great grandmother to Rachel and Vincent Palmer. Nancy was a member of St. Anthony Parish with a special devotion to St. Anthony. The family would like to express gratitude to her caregivers, Carol, Mary, Charlotte, Sarah, Pat, Mary Ann and Teresa for their compassion and love. And a special thank you to Pebble Creek Nursing Home for their comfort and support. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 noon Friday at St. Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main) 552 N. Main St., Akron.
