Nancy Rue was born in Salisbury, Maryland in the height of the Great Depression and lived on Maryland's Eastern Shore until her family moved to New Castle, Pennsylvania.
She was the oldest of four children of Tilden and Louella Rue and helped take care of her younger siblings Norma, Judy and Gary along with the many chores expected of her. Throughout her life she was a hard worker and never rested until a task was done. She graduated from Shenango High School in 1950, met a handsome young Navy recruit and in 1953 married Donald St.Clair. Nancy held the household together while Don finished college and moved his family to the Akron area. Nancy and Don raised four children in their new house in Tallmadge, Ohio where they lived until moving to the Gables of Green in 2023.
Nancy was known for her common sense and extraordinary insight into human nature. She loved a good joke and was one of the world's best story tellers. She was a collector and loved to show off her collections of vintage irons, old children's shoes, oil lamps, butter molds, dolls and teddy bears. She loved needlepoint, cross stitch, and quilting and always kept an immaculate house filled with knick knacks and her handy work.
Above all she was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by daughters, Terry St.Clair (John Pavlis) and Leslie St.Clair (Mark Lutz), and sons, Scott (Dee)St.Clair, and Jeff St.Clair (Marta Weist); grandchildren, Eric Lutz, Elaine Lutz, Matt St.Clair, Maggie Murphy, Jack St.Clair, Sol St.Clair, Isaac St.Clair, and Naomi St.Clair; and great grandchildren, April, Trent, Gauge, Scarlett, Maren, Callan, Hank and Vivian.
