Listen to Obituary

Nellie Rose Klayko, 94, of Akron Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 15, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 27, 1931, and spent her life embodying the spirit and grit of a true farm girl. Nell found God’s beauty in the soil, the changing seasons, and the simple joys of country living. She was farm girl tough and had spunk right until the end. Those that knew her will attest to that. We all loved her.

Born in Lilly, Pennsylvania, Nellie had lived in Akron for over 70 years. She attended Annunciation Church. She enjoyed gardening, loved animals, and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. She watched every Cleveland Baseball, Football and Basketball game. She loved her sports. She grew up a farm girl in Pennsylvania, and she was the happiest when on the farm or discussing memories as a farm girl.

Nellie is survived by her son, Michael Klayko and daughter in law Patti of Grover, WY, Grandchildren Christopher Klayko (Christina) of Los Altos Hills CA, Keri Sponseller (Christopher) of San Jose CA., Amy Roberts (Matthew) of Parkville, MO. and Joanna Klayko of Kihei HI. Great Grandchildren Caleb, Matteo, and Levi (Klayko), Aiden, Kensey, Hannah (Sponseller), Aspen, Savannah (Roberts) and brother, John Lassak of Kent Oh. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.
