Norman Baird

Norman Baird, 88, passed away August 30, 2017.  Born in Salem, IN, he lived most of his life in the Akron area.

Norman was a machinist at Portage Machine and owner of Norm's Grinding. He was a member of First Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and clog dancing.

He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Baird; sister, Jeanetta Elrod; brother, Raymond Baird.

Norman is survived by his wife of 71 years, June Baird; son, Kris Baird of Cuyahoga Falls; sister, Alma Leacock of Colorado; brother, Darrel (Jean) Baird of Brimfield; grandson, Daniel; great grandchildren, Shaiann and Nikkolai.

Visitation will be 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Donovan Funeral Home 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle)

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Josh Deeter officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
