We lost a great one.
Patricia A. Conway 85, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 15, 2014 after a recent diagnosis of lung cancer.
Pat's family meant the world to her. Pat raised 6 children and loved being a stay at home mom. She personalized her every task. It was not uncommon to get a note on a napkin in your packed school lunch and her husband was always armed with a freshly pressed handkerchief. Pat quietly prepared large family meals and her mashed potatoes were second to none.
Pat had many precious gifts. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or graduation date and always acknowledged the occasion with a greeting card and personal note. Following her faith, Pat religiously maintained a lengthy prayer list and offered masses, placed personal calls and nearly ran out of matches lighting Novena candles for those in need. But most of all, Pat, like her mother Moe, had the uncanny ability to remain calm under any set of circumstances and make everyone around her feel comfortable. She demonstrated this unique gift to the very, very end.
Pat leaves behind her loving husband, Tom, of 62 years. She is also survived by her children: Missy (Doug) Wells, Cindy (Don) Misheff, Cathy (Willie) Shaw, Tommy Conway, Chrissy (Steve) Shaw and Timmy (Kathleen) Conway. "Mimi" also leaves behind 14 grandchildren: Ryan, Courtney, Heather, Meghan, Hollie, Kaitlyn, Erin, Mollie, Parker, Malone, Kelsie, Kevin, Cassie and Chloe. Pat's surviving siblings are Marilyn Penn (Arizona), Joe (Pam) Fichtner (Washington) and her younger sister, and best friend, Anita Liebenderfer. (Akron).
Pursuant to Pat's wishes there will be no calling hours. A mass celebrating Pat's life will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 10:00 am on Monday, May 19, 2014.
