Patricia DiCola, 89, of Tallmadge, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025. Born in Danville, Alabama, Patricia spent the majority of her life in Tallmadge, Ohio, where she built a life filled with love, family, and community.
A devoted member of Community Baptist Church of Tallmadge, Patricia began her professional career at just 18 years old with Ohio Bell as a switchboard operator. Through hard work and dedication, she rose through the ranks, continuing her career through the transitions from Ohio Bell, Ameritech to AT&T, retiring in 1989 after 35 years of service. Patricia had a passion for crafting, especially known for her intricate and beautiful handmade Christmas stockings. A talented bridge player, she was also an active member and past president of both the Tallmadge Garden Club and the Ohio Garden Club. She took immense pride in the vibrant flowers and immaculate landscaping in her yard, nurturing each plant with care and joy.
She and her late husband Paul enjoyed traveling along the East Coast and throughout Ohio with their car club, often driving kit cars Paul built himself. Saturdays in the fall were reserved for cheering on her beloved Alabama Crimson Tide — Roll Tide!
For the past ten years, Patricia spent her winters soaking up the Florida sunshine, embracing a slower pace and continued time with family. Her love of cooking brought everyone together for holidays and special occasions, filling her home with delicious food and cherished memories. Above all, Patricia was devoted to her family. She beamed with pride over her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who brought her countless smiles and laughter over the years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul; her parents, James and Nellie Hogan; siblings Roger, Suzie, and Peggy; and her son-in-law, Larry.
Patricia is survived by her loving children, Linda (Doug) Millinger of Port Clinton, Doug (SangHee) DiCola of Florida, Duane DiCola of North Carolina, Diana (Tom) Barkis of Cuyahoga Falls, and Terry Adaska of Stow; her grandchildren, Michelle, Matthew, Megan, Mike, Michael (Cari), Kyle (Tristan), Haley (Jacob), Justin (Alexis), Dillon, Danielle, and David; great-grandchildren, Breanna (McGuire), Christopher, Gracie, Vinny, Vienna, JJ, Jordan, James, Brooke, Madelyn, Everly, Nash, Eliot, Hayes, Maverick, and Luka; great-great-grandchildren, Dallas, Wrenlee, and Onyx. She is also remembered fondly by Kirk, Rich, Lee, Lori, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to her wonderful neighbors Debbie, Ken, and Cheryl, Ray and Michele— who became like family — and to Southern Care Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
