Patricia Joy (Jent) Wilkey

Patricia Joy (Jent) Wilkey, 94, loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully from this life and into the presence of Jesus on March 17, 2024. Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she lived most of her life in the Akron area.

Pat retired from O'Neil's (Chapel Hill). Affectionately known by many names (Graw, Grawzie, Miss Patty), Pat owned her own cake business and brought joy to many people with her beautifully decorated cake creations. She loved hiking and enjoyed the companionship of many dogs throughout the years, with a special mention of her dear Molly. Her life was spent in service to others, including volunteering at her daughters' schools, in their Girl Scouts troops, church activities including Vacation Bible School, City Hospital, Mobile Meals, and taking neighbors to doctor appointments.

Perhaps her greatest accomplishment in life was being a mother to her four daughters, who loved her dearly and will miss her very much.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Cyrus, in 1999; her parents, Cleo and Roberta; siblings, Nancy Hall, Terry Grace, Bonnie Mossbarger, Timothy Grace, Virginia Elam, and Earl Jent.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Klingler of Akron, Susan (Dennis) Redovian of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Cindy (Bill) Ameredes of League City, Texas, and Debbie (Jeff) Lowe of Johnstown, Ohio; grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah) Klingler, Kristen (Dan) Klingler-Arnott, Stefanie Capozzi Teets, Brent (Nicole) Tan, Lauren Lowe (fiancée Thomas Wilcher), Alexis Lowe, Patti Ameredes, Marybeth (Jonathan) Pixley, Christiana Ameredes, and Serena Ameredes; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Colleen Morton, Bob (Carolyn) Jent, Mike Grace, Sharon Ducommun, Jeanette Hartnett, and Tom Jent; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Special thanks to beloved Senior Helper, Benita, who provided such thoughtful and loving care. Thanks also to Summa Senior Health and Palliative Care and Summa Hospice.

Friends and family will be received on March 25, 2024, 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Tallmadge United Methodist Church (207 N Munroe Road, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278), with the service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Granddaughter Sarah Klingler officiating.

Friends and family are invited to stay for a light lunch after the service.

At Pat's request cremation has taken place, and interment will be at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
