Patricia June Rockich

June 14, 1937 — October 3, 2024

Patricia June Rockich (née Gentner), 87, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Born in Akron, Patricia grew up in Kenmore where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Richard Rockich. "Rocky, I'm home!"

"Grandma Rockich" created a beautiful family that loves her very much. She was a hard worker, and that's how she met the love of her life, Richard Rockich, while working at a dairy serving ice cream. She was a caring and beloved mother to her five children Richard II, David, Cynthia, Kevin, and Christina. Her parties were the center point of countless fond memories, and innumerable delicious meals. She had style and taste, always staying up on current culture. Her family remembers her as having great taste in music and being an enthusiastic traveler.

She was a generous woman that cared about the people around her and lifted them up with her love and time. She was a devout Catholic and is no doubt resting easy in eternity with the family and friends that preceded her. She will be remembered forever by those that knew and loved her. Her wisdom and example of what a woman can do for her family will be passed down to future generations.

Things I learned from Grandma Rockich:

-The importance of regular tasty, mostly healthy meals

-The importance of spending a lot of time moving around outdoors, "blowing the stink off!"

-The importance of taking good care of your things

-The importance of frugality

-How to be generous

-How to be a mother, grandmother, wife, friend

-The joy of a comfortable home

-How to show people you love them through cooking

-That it's important to have parties!

-That taking care of your family is one of the most rewarding things you can do in your life

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; daughter-in-law, Pam; parents, Leo and Rose; brothers, Ed, Ray, Louie, Leo, Don, and Frank; sister, Caroline.

Patricia is survived by her daughters Cynthia (Michael), Cammel and Christina (Scott) Fenn, all of Tallmadge; sons, Rick Rockich of Cleveland, David (Pam) Rockich of North Canton, and Kevin (Anna) Rockich of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Ali (Don), Abbey (Steve), Rick (Marci), Joe (Ashley), Randie (Andy), Josh, Chris, Kaitlyn, Nick, Anna Elise, Jacob, Nikki (Tom), Brianna (Devin), Lindsay (Andy), Tyler (Joanna), Corey, Natalie, Andrew, Deven (Jenny), and Evelyn (Solomon); 22 beloved, great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Samuel; and sister-in-law, Alyce.
