Patricia Ellen (Staggers) Testa went home to her Lord on September 18, 2024. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend to many. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her sons and husband.

Pat was born September 5, 1946, in Akron. Her early years were characterized by roller skating as a team with her Uncle Eddie, Girl Scouts, and singing with the Kenmore High School Cardettes where she met lifelong friends.

She met the love of her life, Denny, at the University of Akron and quickly became acquainted with his group of friends and their future spouses. She worked at the Akron Auto Dealers Association and eventually became a stay-at-home mom. When her children started school, she worked as a health aide at Archbishop Hoban where she became "mom" to many kids, especially when they had a test they weren't prepared for. She was heavily involved in her kids' education, including leading fundraisers and parents' clubs.

Pat continued her love of singing by participating in many choirs including Mothers Singers, Gospel Meets Symphony, Fall Festival Choir and several church choirs. After surviving breast cancer, she eventually met kindred spirits when she joined the Dragon Dream Team, an all-breast cancer survivor dragon boat team. Even after her Alzheimer's diagnosis made paddling a challenge, she continued her support by cheering the team to victories.

Pat is survived by her husband of 57 years, Denny, sister, Peg Workman, and sons Steve (Lisa) and Mike (Denise), her grandchildren, Nate (Kelly), David (Paige), Annalise, Sophia (Christian), Tate (Emily), Blaire and great-granddaughters, Wren and Lucy Testa. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carey, and her parents, Hank and Louise Staggers.

The family would like to thank the staff of Crossroads Hospice for their loving care of Pat during her journey with AD.

Calling hours will be Monday, September 23 from 4-7pm at Hennessy Funeral Home, at the corner York and North Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Tuesday, September 24 at Blessed Trinity Parish, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron, OH 44310.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat's name to Blessed Trinity Parish or Archbishop Hoban High School, 1 Holy Cross Blvd, Akron, OH 44306, or the charity of your choice.
