Listen to Obituary

Loving spouse, dedicated father, and warmhearted grandfather who bled scarlet and gray, Patsy DiMauro, Jr., 92, of Akron, Ohio, died peacefully on June 6, 2026.

Patsy was born in Kent, Ohio, on June 29, 1933, to Pasquale and Maria DiMauro. Affectionately known as Junior, he was the youngest of seven sons. He loved sharing stories of life on their Brimfield family farm, especially the one about his wedding needing to take place after their annual harvest was complete.

Patsy married Antoinette Urbano in Akron on October 10, 1959, and they shared 59 years together. He and Antoinette raised four children, Carla (Bob), Michael (Sabina), Gina (Mike), and Paula (Michael). Their greatest joy was watching their family grow. Patsy was the grandfather of eight grandchildren-David (Sam), Tommy (Sophie), Halle, Julie (Clay), Natalie, Anna, Caroline, and Jacob. He loved being their "Papa" and never failed to make them laugh.

He went to work each day for 31 years at Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg. He was a role model to all, showing what work-ethic and dedication looked like. He retired in 1988 but went straight back to work at Archbishop Hoban High School, serving as the equipment manager for the football and basketball teams at the school he was so proud to have all four of his children and two of his grandchildren attend. When not at work, Patsy could be found tailgating with family and friends and cheering on the Buckeyes in The Horseshoe on autumn weekends, a tradition he enjoyed for decades.

Patsy was preceded in death by his wife Antoinette, his parents, his six brothers, and his sisters-in-law. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and his multitude of one-liners.

The family would like to thank Maplewood at Cuyahoga Falls, Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care, and especially Nurse Jackie, for their attentive and compassionate care.
