Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he was predeceased by parents, Norbert F. Hanke and Clara O'Connor Hanke; wife, Marlene; and brother, Boyd.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Karin Valle-Cavero; beloved father of Kevin (Mary), David (Laurie), Vincent (Laraine); Julie Stanford (Jonathan) and Michelle Fredricksen (Christian). He is survived by brother, James (Connie); sister, Lois Hall (Mike); sister-in-law, Wanda.Paul, a U of Louisville Speed School graduate in chemical engineering, joined Goodyear in 1959 to work in the development of new polyester processes. Head of Polyester Research and Development 1972 to 1984: contributed to the development of the Solid-State Polymerization Process, the high molecular weight polymer used worldwide in the food and beverage industry. Appointed Manager of Facility Federal Compliance for federal and state EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations with Goodyear, a position he maintained with Shell and M&G Polymers LLC until retirement. He served 17 years on Stow City Planning Commission, six years as Head of Planning; 10 years on United Way Budget Development Board, 1 ½ years on Kames Board. Paul was a Bronze Life Master NACBL, led numerous bridge clubs in Stow and achieved local bowling fame with a score of 300!
Memorial Mass at Holy Family Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, Ohio, Saturday, April 11, 2015. Calling hour 12 noon; service 1 p.m. Private interment at Stow Cemetery.
